RSIC Mechanical Portfolio Update
July 2005
As agreed at the last meeting, the portfolio has been increased by the addition of a further £6,000 in cash. This will be gradually used up via increasing the subsequent purchase amounts by the standard formula.
A healthy rise of 4.6% this month compared to the All Share’s 2.8% so hopefully we’re back to the days of good out performance!
Best performances were from Carclo (+24%) and SportingBet (+22%). There were no major falls.
Carclo, Hunting and Taylor Woodrow all set new highs during the month but have not reached their respective target prices.
SportingBet has reached it’s anniversary date but having previously reached its target price and fallen below the trailing stop loss it has now (just) set a new high and is above the trailing stop loss level which is currently at 336.6p. Therefore barring a fall on Monday we will not be selling it this month and there will be no transactions. NB: because SportingBet has performed so well the trailing stop loss amount now represents just 4.2% of the share price. It is therefore highly likely that even a small correction will lead to its sale during the coming month.
